Crowned Belts
The most common crowned belts are actually referred to as “reverse crowned” belts. They are typically used in “hold-down” applications such as conveyorized frying. The belt is pre-stressed so the belt will remain level and flat when it is supported only on the edges. This creates a level and a consistent surface for holding the product in the application. (In the example to the right, the ”reverse crowned” belt will hold the floating product below the surface of the oil.)
