LONDONDERRY, NH - Wire Belt Company of America, a fourth generation family owned manufacturer of wire belt conveying systems, received the 2012 Family Business of the Year Award. Presented by the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Center for Family Business, Wire Belt was honored at the 2nd Annual Family Recognition Dinner on May 23, 2012 at the Bedford Village Inn.

The UNH Center for Family Business recognizes one outstanding family business annually for their contributions to the community and industry, along with innovative business practices and long term stability. Wire Belt Company of America is passionate about keeping manufacturing jobs here in NH, and does so by creating a fun environment where employees are like family. Some of the benefits enjoyed by Wire Belt employees include a scholarship program, garden plots, interest-free computer loans, annual safety incentives and paid hours to volunteer in the community. Wire Belt takes their commitment one step further by continuing a no-layoff policy that they’ve adhered to for over 25 years.

Wire Belt Company of America is honored to have Hall of Fame status with BusinessNH Magazine for being one of the top ten “Best Companies to Work for in New Hampshire” for four out of five years. In 2009, Wire Belt claimed BusinessNH Magazine’s top prize as “The Best Small Company to Work for in New Hampshire”.

Wire Belt Company of America has also been awarded multiple times for our ongoing green efforts towards helping to improve the environment. In 2009 and 2011, Wire Belt Company of America was the recipient of Business New Hampshire Magazine’s “Lean and Green” award. In 2010, Governor John Lynch recognized Wire Belt Company by awarding us with the “Governors Award for Pollution Prevention” which recognized our outstanding pollution prevention practices.
